Genesis GBS

A global economic and development consultancy with offices across Africa and representation in four more continents, needing a site that carries genuine institutional weight.

The Genesis GBS website homepage, designed and built by Fusion By Design

The brief

Consultancies selling to governments, development agencies and large enterprises are judged on institutional credibility before capability. The site has to demonstrate reach and track record in the first screen, because the buyer is often shortlisting rather than discovering.

Genesis works across 115 countries with offices in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire. That footprint is the strongest single asset and it needed to be visible, not stated in an About page.

What we built

The homepage carries a global map with the footprint plotted, alongside the plain claim about countries worked in. A map is one of the few places where decoration and evidence are the same object.

Navigation splits into what we do, who we serve and who we are - capability, audience and identity - because an agency procurement lead and a private-sector client enter looking for different ones of those three.

A trusted-by strip of real client and partner marks sits immediately below the hero, and dated insight and report cards run underneath, which is how a research-led consultancy demonstrates it is currently active rather than historically impressive.

A marketplace section extends the site beyond a brochure into a platform surface.

Why it works

Dating the insight cards visibly is a small decision with outsized effect. An undated thought-leadership library looks abandoned; a dated one that runs to the current year is proof of an active practice.
