A South African company selling vinyl placemat advertising - printed ads placed on the tables of restaurants, lodges and social venues. The website has the unusual job of selling an offline medium to an audience that has been told for a decade that advertising means digital.
Most people have sat at a table with one of these placemats in front of them without ever thinking about it as an advertising channel. So the site has two problems at once: explain what the product physically is, and make the case that it is worth buying against a Facebook or Google budget.
The second is the harder one. A prospective advertiser is comparing a placemat against a channel that reports impressions, clicks and cost per lead. The website cannot win that comparison on the advertiser's terms, so it has to change the terms.
The homepage opens with "Real Advertising. Real People. Real Results." - a deliberate stance rather than a slogan. It names the objection to digital advertising that this audience already feels, and positions the product as the answer to it, in the first thing anyone reads.
That framing then earns the rest of the page. Once a visitor accepts the premise that a captive diner beats a skipped impression, the specifics - up to twelve months of exposure, full-colour print, design included - read as supporting evidence rather than a feature list.
The hero is a real photograph of real placemats on a real restaurant table, carrying real local business adverts. Not a mockup and not a stock image, which for a physical product is the difference between understanding it in two seconds and not understanding it at all.
The gallery does the same job at length. For a medium nobody can look up, evidence of actual placements in actual venues is the only proof that exists, and it is worth more page space than any amount of description.
Both primary calls to action point at starting a conversation rather than at a price list, because placement is quoted on venue, volume and duration rather than sold off a shelf.
WhatsApp sits alongside the quote form. For a business selling to restaurant and lodge owners - people who are rarely at a desk and almost always on a phone - it is the channel they will actually use, and making them fill in a form instead would cost enquiries.
