Auto Screen Guard

A South African brand selling precision-cut TPU screen protectors for car infotainment displays and motorcycle clusters, with two very different ways to buy: a DIY kit posted to you, or a mobile installer who comes to your car.

The brief

The product needs explaining before it can be sold. Most drivers do not know that infotainment screens pick up micro-scratches from car washes, and a store that opens with a product grid sells nothing to someone who does not yet know they have the problem.

The second complication is that this is a physical product cut to fit a specific make and model. Sizing has to be resolved before checkout or every order becomes a support conversation.

What we built

A store where the problem is established before the catalogue appears, with a video tutorial doing the work that a shop assistant would do in person - showing how the application actually goes, which is the main objection to buying a DIY kit.

Two purchase paths run in parallel rather than competing: buy the kit and fit it yourself, or book mobile installation. Finish options - gloss or anti-glare - are presented as a real decision with a stated difference, not an unexplained dropdown.

Custom cut sizing runs through an enquiry route rather than an automated model selector, which suits a catalogue that changes as new vehicle models arrive.

Why it works

Every element of the store answers something a buyer cannot check by holding the product: what it looks like fitted, how hard it is to apply, and what happens if they get it wrong. That is the whole job of an e-commerce product page.
